Mecca Doncaster has made a generous donation to local charity HCPT Group 101 as part of its Christmas toy appeal.
Kind hearted employees from the East Laith Gate club surprised charity representatives with an assortment of gifts including cuddly toys, backpacks, lunch boxes and toiletries worth more than £1,000.
Christmas gifts were donated by Mecca members and employees, and also purchased with money raised from charity bingo, tombola games and other fundraising activities.

Sometimes you have to get up in the morning; the kids are screaming at each other in their room, your husband has rolled over and let out a disgusting smell instead of a nice morning cuddle or the cat has made itself comfortable on your head.
But if you had none of these things to drag you out of bed what would make you rise, bright and early, ready to take on the day ahead?
Whilst you have a think we’ve thought up a list of the best reasons for setting your alarm early tomorrow morning:
Nutella. We could just leave it there to be honest. Nutella is definitely a good enough reason to get out of bed. Slathered on toast, on bagels, on crumpets, eaten straight out of the pot with a spoon (or your finger), Nutella is a very good reason to brave the chilly kitchen in the morning.
Showers with your partner in the morning are another strong reason to get out of bed. You can make sure he gets that hard to reach area at the top of his back and he can pass you the shampoo – wait, what did you think we were talking about? Naughty.
Jeremy Kyle. You might hate him, but you just can’t stop watching his guests.
Turning on the laptop to chat to your friends online, should make you want to wake up in the morning. Gossiping on Facebook over your morning cuppa will set you up for the day, whilst you discuss what that girl from school got up to at the weekend – minus her husband.
Cuddles with the kids whilst they eat breakfast, watching telly on the sofa, should help you kick off the covers and head downstairs. Get everyone up even earlier so you can enjoy the cuddles for even longer. Just give them a nudge if they doze off whilst Peppa Pig is on.
Getting the housework done or any errands ticked off quickly is a good reason to get out of bed. We’re being serious. The sooner you get up and get it all done, whether it’s that pile of ironing, food shopping or cleaning the bathroom, the sooner you can do whatever you want for the rest of the day.
Switching on This Morning, crossing your fingers that it’s a day where Gino D’Acampo is cooking something up in the kitchen.

Fifteen Mecca Bingo clubs showcased their commitment to Carers Trust and raised over £13,000 in 10 days for carers across the UK.
Participating in various challenges, initiatives and events including the Ice Bucket Challenge, sponsored silences, sweet stalls and the main event, a sponsored 48-hour survival-themed camping trip at the Ripon Military Camp in North Yorkshire, the 15 clubs joined forces to raise funds to help 7 million unpaid UK carers.
“We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and been able to contribute to Carers Trust. It was a lot of fun and hard work but the sense of reward we all feel for being able to contribute to such an invaluable cause truly is special,” said Mecca Hull general manager Paul Webb.
The northeast Mecca Bingo clubs that participated – Blyth, Bradford, Gateshead, Sunderland, Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds Hunslet, Leeds Mayfair, Leeds Crossgates, York, Hull Cecil, Hull Clough Road, Hartlepool, Stockton and Scarborough – hoped to raise £10,000 in 10 days, but far exceeded expectations, raising £13,083.09.
Anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who could not cope without their support, is a carer.
Three out of five people will be carers at some stage in their lives, underpinning the importance of helping those who dedicate their lives to caring for another.

Mecca Swansea has been recognised for its continued fundraising work as it was awarded South Wales’ Most Charitable Business of 2014 at the annual awards show on Thursday, 25th September.
“It’s a great recognition for our customers and staff but mostly for our customers as they are the ones donating their hard-earned money to charities,” said Mecca Swansea team leader Michael Diamond. “Our team at Mecca Swansea has also been magnificent and winning this award demonstrates the fact that we are about so much more than bingo.”
Michael credits Mecca Swansea’s charity champion, Glenys Weaver, as she is responsible for organising most of the club’s charitable initiatives.
“Glenys has been influential and deserves a lot of the credit for devoting her time to raising money for invaluable causes,” said Michael. “Unfortunately she wasn’t able to attend the awards ceremony but we accepted on behalf of the incredible work she does.”
Congratulations to everyone involved!
