Britain’s Got Talent Week 1 Roundup

The nation’s favourite talent show came roaring back onto our screens over the weekend, so we’ve provided this handy recap so you don’t miss the best of BGT!

Who got through?

Judges were wowed by a variety of acts on the debut weekend. From a Matrix-themed magic act by brother-sister illusionists Matricks Illusion to ventriloquist Jamie Leahey – the variety show truly lived up to its name.
Yeses also went out to dance act Les Sancho and scooter prodigy’s Scooter Boys with their daredevil routine.

Who fell short?

Not everyone managed to wow all four judges. Singer Ferdinand Rennie from Scotland managed a yes from Amanda but failed to wow the rest of the panel, with Simon stating he’d just “murdered” ‘Never Enough’ from The Greatest Showman, a panel favourite.

Shining stars

Loren Allred bagged Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer, sending her straight through to the next round. She is somewhat of a professional already and has some great experience, having been the singing voice for Jerry Lind in the 2017 blockbuster musical The Greatest Showman.

Stand-out moment

Titan the Robot activated the show’s thrill mode when he rocked the stage with his musical comedy routine. The auditioning automaton thrilled judges and the audience alike, getting through to the next round with the promise of more futuristic fun!
