Research beforehand

Before the craziness of the day arrives and you get bombarded with products, spend some time looking up what you want. It’s important to check the quality of the product/s you want to buy so that you know you’re not getting ripped off. The best way to do this is by reading reviews on several sites, then you can decide what’s worth putting on your shopping list.

Check pre-sale pricing

Just as important it is to make sure you’re buying decent products; you also want to make sure that you’re not getting bamboozled on Black Friday. Put together a list of the item’s current pricing, and then on the day you can work out the percentage or amount of discount and see if it’s worth the hype.

Set a budget

We can all be tempted by minus signs and ‘sale’ written in big red lettering, so to ensure you don’t spend too much it’s best to set a limit for the day – and stick to it!

Plan where you want to shop

This is a good tip that will also help you stay on budget! Map out the stores where you’ll find the products you want, so that you don’t end up buying a foot spa that you’ll use only once a year.

Don’t queue, go online

Thank goodness for online shopping, because now you can fill up your cart without having to rugby tackle another person. What’s more, most online stores will have both Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals – that’s two days to shop massive discounts without getting out of your pyjamas! Remember to set up your online accounts prior to save you time.  

Read up on return policies

Before you make a big purchase and are stuck with something you second guessed about, do your homework on the stores return and exchange policy for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. They could have shortened the days of return, or some items may not even be allowed to be returned. It’s good to be prepared!

Stay up to date via socials and email

Most stores and brands will post about their best offers and time-limited deals on their social media accounts, as well as by sending out emails to their subscribers. Sign up to the mailing lists and follow your favourites to keep in the know.

Start saving early

As stores and brands compete to be top of your mind on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, most of them start their sales early with some good discounts in the week of. So, keep an eye out for some great early deals.
