British Summer Time – activities to look forward to
If you’re anything like us, you’ve got summer on your mind. It’s nearly the end of March which means the clocks are changing soon, and hopefully so will the weather! So, how about we fuel those daydreams with our top summer activities to look forward to:
Picnics in the park
Great for a catch up with friends or family. A picnic in the park is the perfect excuse to lie in the sun, tuck into some lovely picky bits and a refreshing drink. Plus, if you make your own picnic at home, it’s a free activity.
Days at the seaside
There’s something about being British that means as soon as there is a glimmer is sunshine, we immediately flock to the beach like our lives depend on it, we just can’t help ourselves! This little island of ours has an abundance of stunning coastline and we can’t wait to explore more of it this summer – because nothing tastes as good as an ice cream at the beach. Just remember to pack the sunscreen!
Cycling in the sun
A bike ride on a sunny day is an amazing way to get outside and explore, and its great exercise. If you’re not comfortable cycling on the road, have a look online to find your local cycle paths. If you don’t have your own bicycle, no need to worry, they are very easy and cheap to rent – especially if you live in a city.
There’s nothing quite like the smell of a barbeque in the air on a hot day. It’s the perfect excuse to get your family and friends round to enjoy some delicious food and relax. Whether you like keep it simple with sausages and burgers, or spice thing up with fancy skewers, everyone is sure to love it when it’s cooked outside!
The great outdoors
This summer we’re looking forward to just getting outside and enjoying what mother nature has to offer. We’re all feeling the pinch at the moment, so anything that is low cost is a yes from us! Going for a country walk or just checking out your local nature reserve is a great way to enjoy the longer days and warmer weather.
