Mecca’s Annual Care O’clock Party Commences
Here at Mecca, we believe there’s no greater feeling than helping others. That’s why this October we are working with Carers Trust, our charity partner, to give something back to unpaid carers.
There are currently around seven million carers in the UK, many working for zero pay to support those who need it the most. As it stands, the employment rate for carers in the UK is just 67 per cent, and one in five carers have given up work to support others.
With the help of Carers Trust, many unpaid carers are secured grants so they can maintain their livelihood.
The charity is a lifeline for many carers across the UK, who would otherwise struggle to make ends meet. Unfortunately, due to the demanding nature of their work, many carers rarely get time to themselves.
At Mecca Bingo, we know how much carers give up to support others. To show our gratitude, we are holding a special Care O’clock celebration for when the clocks go back, giving UK carers time to indulge in their extra hour of me-time.
This year, the clocks go back on 28th October. From 6.30pm that evening, carers can visit their local bingo hall for a night of free food, drinks and bingo!
Mecca Bingo has been partners with Carers Trust for nearly four years and, together with Grosvenor Casinos, have raised more than £1million for the charity.

Giles Meyer, Interim CEO at Carers Trust, said: “Mecca Bingo has been our charity partner for four years and we’re truly appreciative of the effort its club teams put into helping British unpaid carers. The Care O’clock party is set to be an evening of great fun and I’d encourage any carer to register for their place at the party”.
If you’re not a carer and still wish to visit your local bingo hall on 28th October, please feel free to come along, our bingo clubs are open as usual.
To make the weekend even sweeter, we’re celebrating National Chocolate Day (28th October) in all our Mecca clubs. This means free chocolate gifts for customers, with all bingo-goers entered into a free prize draw to win a year’s supply – yes, a year’s supply! – of Nestlé chocolate.
